Program Speaker: Roxane Battle

Roxane Battle is long-time Twin Cities journalist and author best known for her work as former co-host of the KARE-11(NBC) Today show. Her memoir, Pockets of Joy: Deciding to Be Happy: Choosing to Be Free, and the Pockets of Joy Journal, both published in 2015 became best sellers, hitting #1 and #2 back to back in their category on Amazon. Now in its second printing and endorsed by New York Times best selling author Tavis Smiley, Pockets of Joy is also the winner of the Midwest Independent Publishing Association’s (MIPA) Midwest Book Award.

Best known for her humor and masterful storytelling, Roxane is a gifted writer, video producer and speaker, and frequently talks to corporate and faith-based audiences on the topics of finding joy and work-life balance.

Roxane has been a contributor writer on mariashriver.com, and featured in Working Mother and Ebony magazines,the Minneapolis Star Tribune and St. Paul Pioneer Press. Roxane and her book have also been featured on a host of radio shows, podcasts and every television station in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market.

A native of St. Paul, Roxane graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and completed her graduate degree in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
